In  2011, Toys for Tots was homeless again.

We are faced with the same dilemma and,  each year, somehow we manage to pull through.

This year was no different.  We made numerous telephone calls and spoken to realtors requesting their assistance.   We had an article appear in the Sarasota Herald Tribune.  We received only two telephone calls from that article.  Unfortunately, the spaces offered would not work. We called rental spaces listed on Craig’s List.  We drove around neighborhoods searching and calling.

Finally, after hunting high and low,  someone stepped forward and volunteered a beautiful, centrally located  warehouse for the season.  And, none too soon.

Our normal set up date is October 1st of each year.  This year, November 1st passed and we still had not found our “home”.

When, the new space was finalized, everyone swung in to action as the order for toys started coming in August!

We’re set for another season!
